An Inter-Religious Meditation Experience

Leading the session will be lineage holders from the Daystar Zendo, Sensei Cynthia Taberner and Fr. Kevin Hunt, O.C.S.O.,Roshi, a Zen master and a Trappist Monk. Also teaching is the Rev. Eugene Dyszlewski, a Baptist Pastor, trained in the Mahamudra & Dzogchen tradition. The meditation program has a distinctive blend of Eastern and Western elements, with contemplative influence from Buddhism and Monastic Christianity.

There continues to be an increasing understanding of the beneficial effects of Meditation on emotional health and wellbeing. These include attention control, emotion regulation, self-awareness and anxiety reduction. Over time through the disciplined practice of paying attention to the present experience, practitioners develop a non-reactive, present centered, non-judgmental awareness. In addition, meditation encourages spiritual growth, encourages prosocial behavior and allows a more abundant appreciation of our human experience.

The Rev. Eugene Dyszlewski will conduct an orientation for participants who are new to contemplation. If meditation is new to you, or if you have an established practice, we would love to have you sit with us. We appreciate the blessing of your presence.
