Dear LRBC Members and Friends,

The Deacons, Executive Board, and Pastor Gene met on 3/17/20 via phone conference to discuss how to best minister to our congregation. During this trying time we want to keep everyone engaged and in communication as much as possible and to be a resource for any feeling isolated, lonely or in need of help.

You should have seen correspondence from Pastor Gene with information concerning coping skills along with health recommendations and from Jerilyn concerning our efforts to put forth an on-line service. Please look for more email in the days and weeks to come and certainly visit our website – LRBCRI.ORG – and/or view our Facebook page for more information.

One thing of concern across the board right now is access to food and necessities. The prior mentioned groups want to help ensure that our congregation has access to these items. If anyone needs help with shopping or obtaining food, please let one of us know. We can access volunteers who can help with shopping for those concerned about going into stores.

The Food Pantry is another resource we can draw upon. Currently, we are still operating the Food Pantry with a few modifications. This part of our society is already at a disadvantage and we felt we could not desert them at this difficult time. Saturdays are now being serviced completely outside in the parking lot with a ‘drive thru’ method to protect our volunteers and customers. Tuesdays are still operated inside but with limits to one or two customers at a time to ensure physical distancing. Our two days of operating in this method worked well. We still continue to order and receive goods at this time.

If any church members have difficulty finding items at their regular shopping venues or find they can’t get items they need, we may be able to supply them from the Food Pantry. Check with Ron for availability and/or to arrange pick up or delivery (if necessary).

Stay Heathy,
Ron Rivet
